Work Permit

High school students under the age of 18 are subject to the California Labor Code to have a work permit to work. Please follow the instructions below to obtain a work permit. Students must have a job offer from an employer before applying for the work permit.

Starting June 16, 2025, students may obtain their work permits at the District Office at 5832 Bolsa Avenue, Huntington Beach, CA, 92649 (from June-August when there is no school).

All students under the age of 18 that have not completed high school must have a valid work permit issued yearly.

The Huntington Beach Union High School District Office is open during the summer to issue work permit to students.
