What is VIPS?
VIPS (Volunteers In Public Schools) is a program of the Huntington Beach Union High School District. It is exciting adult involvement in education that has developed nationwide. It is involvement where it really counts.
Program Goals
Bridge the gap between Schools and Community for enhancement of learning opportunities for youth.

Volunteer Clearing Requirements
Occasional Volunteer
- Complete online questionnaire
- Submit emergency card
- Request TB assessment from CRC, if frequent and prolonged contact with students.
Volunteers not under the supervision of a certificated teacher
(alone with students)
- Complete online questionnaire
- Submit emergency card
- Request TB Assessment from the CRC
- Request Fingerprinting from the CRC
CLEARANCE FOR DRIVERS
Volunteers Driving Personal Vehicle
- Complete informational form
- Complete online questionnaire and emergency information
- Request TB Assessment from the CRC
- Request Fingerprinting from the CRC
- Submit copy of driver's license
- Submit proof of insurance ($100,000 liability minimum)
Volunteers Driving District Vehicle
- Complete online questionnaire
- Submit emergency card
- Request TB assessment from the CRC
- Request fingerprinting from CRC
- Submit:
- Authorization for Volunteer to drive district vehicle form
- Release of motor vehicle records
- Copy of driver’s license
- Forms to drive district vehicles here
